Caroline Wickens
Caroline's roles centre on
fostering vocation of all kinds. Working with individuals exploring particular
forms of vocation, including those exploring the call to Ordained Ministry, and
working with Circuits to establish EDEV groups
Her tasks include:
· Working
with Superintendents, Circuit Staff and CLT's to explore the EDEV process and
how it might best be applied in their specific Circuit contexts.
· Providing initial training and ongoing resources for
EDEV facilitators (this includes updating the material on the EDEV website
at www.sysiphus.org.uk )
· Organizing
events across the two Districts - such as a study day for EDEV participants and
a Vocational Exploration Day.
· Working
with individuals in the early stages of exploring a call to ordained ministry
and supporting them in developing a portfolio of experience. (NB. Rev. Robert
Ely, District Vocations Secretary, has responsibility for all formal aspects of
candidating).
· Running
an Annual Vocational Exploration Seminar for those seriously considering
candidating.
Outcomes
of her work include:
· Growing
familiarity in circuits with the new candidating process, leading to greater
confidence in using it.
· Adequate
support for candidates in preparing their portfolio.
· Publicising
the EDEV process and supporting the development of groups within circuits.
· Increasing
awareness of vocation to some form of ministry and mission as an integral part
of discipleship for all Christians. |
